When we launched Luma, we knew beautiful jewelry deserved beautiful packaging — but we refused to compromise our environmental values. Here’s how we designed packaging that’s as kind to the planet as it is to your pieces.
Why It Matters
The jewelry industry generates millions of tons of packaging waste every year. Plastic pouches, foam inserts, and non-recyclable boxes pile up in landfills. We wanted to do better.
What’s Inside Our Box
- The Box: 100% recycled cardboard with soy-based inks
- The Pouch: Organic cotton, reusable for travel or storage
- The Insert: Recycled tissue paper — fully compostable
- The Card: Plantable seed paper — bury it and grow wildflowers
Reducing Our Footprint
We’ve eliminated single-use plastics from our packaging entirely. Our boxes are sized to fit your pieces perfectly, reducing wasted space and shipping emissions. And we’re constantly looking for ways to improve — from carbon-offset shipping to sourcing materials closer to home.
Your Role
Recycle your Luma box with your curbside pickup. Reuse the cotton pouch as a travel jewelry case, gift bag, or storage for small items. And if you’re done with them, both are fully biodegradable.
Sustainability isn’t a marketing slogan for us — it’s how we do business. Every day, every order, every piece.
